Founded in the 1960s, CDG—formerly known as Jiangsu Transportation Planning and Design Institute—became an independent entity in 2005 with the establishment of the Jiangsu Province Transport Planning and Design Institute Limited Company. In 2014, we achieved a significant milestone by becoming the first engineering design company to be independently listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange. Two years later, in 2016, we rebranded as CHINA DESIGN GROUP Co., Ltd., transforming from a regional transport design institute into a nationally recognized, integrated consulting and design firm. This pivotal shift enabled us to expand our global reach while continuing to pursue excellence and innovation.
With a workforce of over 6,000 professionals, CDG ranks third among China's top 100 engineering consulting enterprises by revenue and 49th in the ENR Top 150 Global Design Firms. We hold integrated Class-A qualifications in engineering consulting, surveying, and design, as well as Class-A qualifications in urban and rural planning—the highest certifications in the industry.
