Work Period: 2021 – 2026
Service to Scope: Development of an Smart Construction BIM Collaborative Management Platform
The Jiangyin–Jingjiang Yangtze River Tunnel is China’s largest-diameter, most water-pressure-resistant highway shield tunnel, part of the national “Yangtze River Main Line Crossing Channel Layout Plan.”
The challenge of this project lies in achieving efficient management during the construction of the cross-river shield tunnel by leveraging the electronic signature and BIM collaborative management platform, ensuring that the construction is uniform in mold, ring, and sequence, and that the final tunnel has no leakage points. The project set four national records and achieved four pioneering innovations. Due to its scale, it faced major challenges in safety, quality, leakage prevention, and complex operations, requiring advanced management and an integrated BIM platform.
With the BIM system, 50,000 segments and 400,000 lifts were completed without error. Production accuracy improved to 0.5mm, assembly within 3mm. Located 80 meters below the Yangtze River, the tunnel achieved zero leakage across 5 kilometers, setting a national benchmark.
