Client: Suzhou Port and Shipping Development Center
Location: Suzhou City, Jiangsu Province
Work Period: November 2023 – November 2024
Service to Scope: Pilot Demonstration Project for Jiangsu Province's Digital Twin Waterway Initiative
The Suzhou Waterway Digital Twin Platform aims for "data visualization, twin applications, and platform compatibility," leveraging new-generation information technologies such as digital twin and AI. It focuses on the circular waterway network formed by the Suzhou section of the Beijing-Hangzhou Canal, Sushen Outer Port Line, and Sushen Inner Port Line, using spatiotemporal data as the foundation and model algorithms as the driver. The platform achieves pilot applications including waterway operation visualization, large-scale 3D monitoring at intersections, and accompanying holographic navigation assistance on water, enhancing visualization and service levels for waterway operation monitoring.
Project challenges include innovatively implementing integrated above-water and underwater maintenance, developing a 3D public navigation application, and completing dynamic evolution analysis of underwater topography based on multi-period survey data.
The project's outcomes were first applied in the Suzhou Waterway Digital Twin Pilot Project, pioneering digital twin waterway construction in Jiangsu Province with a focus on "waterway network operation management," providing a reference for other similar projects. It also explores the transition from 2D to 3D management for waterway monitoring, analysis, and maintenance, conducting demonstrations in Suzhou's inland waterways to offer guidance for high-traffic, high-complexity inland trunk waterway digital twin construction.
