Changtai Bridge, situated in the lower reaches of the Yangtze River, connects Changzhou and central Jiangsu, handling complex traffic flows and high cross-river demand. To address this challenge, a vehicle-road cooperative system has been developed, utilizing intelligent methods to optimize regional traffic conditions. Centered on C-V2X technology, the system integrates multiple capabilities to establish a comprehensive, process-wide accompanying service system. It features intelligent road perception, vehicle control, and equipment management, enabling full traffic awareness, providing real-time services to drivers, effectively reducing congestion, and supporting continuous evolution to adapt to future transportation changes.

     In the development of the smart expressway, the project faces multiple critical challenges, including deep integration of vehicle-road cooperative technology, comprehensive system optimization and upgrades, and efficient project management. The complexity of vehicle-road cooperative technology involves stability and compatibility issues with C-V2X, as well as its integration with multiple platforms. Equipment deployment must meet functional requirements while maximizing the reuse of existing poles, communication, and power supply devices to reduce construction costs and timelines. The project requires multi-department collaboration, with significant differences in stakeholder needs and high difficulty in interest coordination. It necessitates the integration of resources from traffic management, expressway operations, and other parties to align goals and plans.
