Client: Changzhou Highway Development Center
Location: Economic Development District, Changzhou City, Jiangsu Province
Length: 12.849km
Work Period: July 2023 – December 2025
Service to Work: Intelligent Transformation
The project involves the expansion and upgrading of the Changzhou Henglin to Hutang East section of National Highway 312. The original road segment was prone to safety hazards such as frequent fog zones, high traffic volume (with trucks accounting for 33.3%), elevated bridges (fully elevated route), and multiple critical nodes (interchanges and river-crossing bridges), resulting in high accident risks and low traffic efficiency. Smart perception and bridge health monitoring across the entire route significantly improve response capability to adverse weather, enhance safety management of mixed traffic involving trucks, optimize bridge operation and maintenance efficiency, and form a replicable model for smart highway construction.
The project's core challenges involve addressing: accident risks triggered by adverse weather conditions like fog zones, safety hazards posed by high truck volume and mixed passenger-freight traffic, maintenance difficulties caused by dense elevated bridges, and coordination demands for complex multi-node traffic organization.
The design team leveraged smart perception and big data analytics to establish a comprehensive video surveillance network and a bridge health monitoring system, enabling real-time traffic state monitoring, risk early warning, and scientific maintenance decisions, markedly boosting road safety and management efficiency.
