Against the backdrop of new urbanization, the Zhenjiang Expressway Network Plan has been formulated to promote Zhenjiang's better integration into the Yangtze River Delta region and the Nanjing-Zhenjiang-Yangzhou metropolitan area, support the integrated development of urban and rural areas in Zhenjiang, and serve the city's "one core, two wings" spatial layout.  

     At the municipal level, the plan establishes an expressway network described as "four rings, four radials, and eight connectors," totaling 287 kilometers.  

     Within the urban area, the plan forms an expressway network characterized as "three horizontal, three vertical, and two connectors," with a total length of 175 kilometers.
