The Yangtze River Delta is among China's most developed economic zones. This 50-kilometer expressway connects Xiyi and Sutai Expressways through Wuxi and Suzhou, serving as a critical link in the Beijing-Shanghai transport corridor and vital access for Taicang Port. Its construction enhances regional integration, eases traffic pressure on key routes, improves connectivity, and boosts economic development along the Suzhou-Wuxi-Changzhou area.
The project faces significant challenges, navigating highly urbanized areas, complex construction due to numerous interchanges and high bridge-tunnel ratios, and stringent environmental requirements. Passing through Suzhou-Wuxi’s developed zones, it must comply with strict urban planning and multi-sector regulations, making design highly complex. Adhering to eco-friendly, people-oriented, and durable principles, it balances environmental, safety, and economic factors to achieve optimal cost-effectiveness and high-quality development.
The project connects developed districts in Wuxi and Suzhou, boosting regional socioeconomic growth. Through transport connectivity and industrial innovation synergy, it facilitates the entire chain from technological advancement to new quality productive forces, energizing Suzhou-Wuxi's economic transformation.
