Service to Scope: Dehumidification System for the Main Cable, Design and Construction


This project is designed to tackle the corrosion issue of the main cables in suspension bridges. It entails the use of pressurized fans to convey treated, dry, and clean air into the main cables. Through this approach, the relative humidity of the air within the cables is reduced, effectively preventing the corrosion of the main cable wires. It embodies the mainstream development trend of main cable protection technology for suspension bridges.

     Key challenges include constructing this extra-large suspension bridge as a complex engineering feat while ensuring energy-efficient operation throughout its lifecycle.The system comprises multiple subsystems, primarily including the air treatment system, sealing system, sensors, and automatic control system, among others. Once the project is put into operation, it must operate continuously without interruption to ensure the health and durability of the main cables of the suspension bridge.
