This 10.4-kilometer first-phase segment begins at Taicang Station and heads west along Jiangnan Road, making a stop at Baiyundu Road Station. It then turns south to Shibagang Road Station, ultimately terminating at the Jiangsu-Shanghai border to enable seamless operation with the extended Jiading-Minhang Line.

     As a key part of the 222-kilometer Intercity corridor, this segment significantly improves connectivity across the broader Yangtze Delta rail network. It establishes Taicang as a regional gateway hub and accelerates the city's integration into Yangtze Delta development.

     Furthermore, the segment enables direct transfers to several Shanghai metro lines, enhancing intermodal transportation and facilitating convenient travel for passengers across the regional network.
