Client: Suzhou Industrial Park Municipal Engineering Department

Project Location: Suzhou City, Jiangsu Province

Scale: 25,000 ㎡

Work Period: December 2018 – June 2025

Service Scope: Design

This project is located within the area enclosed by the stations of Suzhou Metro Lines 6, 8, and 12 in Suzhou Industrial Park, involving the comprehensive design and contracting for underground space development along with the architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, and intelligent systems of the ground-level landscape park. Primarily serving metro passengers while also accommodating the shopping, consumption, and parking needs of surrounding residents, it aims to provide citizens with convenient transportation and transfer services, comprehensive commercial and supporting facilities, and an urban park that connects people with nature, ultimately developing into a key riverside civic life plaza near Jinji Lake.

The architectural layout is based on the arrangement of the three metro line stations, with transportation organization and passenger flow management at its core, fully considering the relationship with urban roads and the travel directions of nearby residents. The underground space development is closely integrated with the ground-level landscape park, allowing the commercial agglomeration effect of the underground space and the leisure atmosphere of the park to coexist harmoniously and mutually reinforce each other.

The underground space is centered around three sunken plazas, each corresponding to the station entrances and transfer halls of the three metro lines, effectively connected by a single underground commercial circulation route that runs through the site. Shops are arranged along this route, ensuring all stores are adjacent to the main pedestrian flow directions, benefiting equally from foot traffic, and providing direct same-level access to the metro stations, with project challenges including the integration of underground spaces, three-line transfer, and urban park development.
