Client: Shenzhen city Baoan district water bureau
JV: Lingnan Design Group NL Urban Solutions B.V.
Location:Shenzhen
Area: 11.5 kilometers
Work Period: April 2020 – Present
Service to Scope: Watershed Remediation, Co-development of Aquaculture Cities, Landscape Enhancement
The project originates from Shiyan Bridge (Songbai Road) and extends upstream along the river system encompassing Shilongzi Waterway to Niugudou Reservoir, spanning a total length of 11.48 kilometers. Designed to Blueway standards, it integrates five core engineering systems: Safety, Ecology, Leisure, Cultural Heritage, and Industrial Development. By synergizing water environment enhancement with urban spatial optimization, the initiative interlinks historical-cultural preservation zones, public service facilities, strategic land reserves, and industrial clusters through a holistic "water-industry-city co-governance" framework. This approach innovatively bridges watershed rehabilitation, industrial transformation, and urban regeneration.
The project navigates three pivotal challenges: pioneering Shenzhen-specific solutions for river ecological remediation, operationalizing the aqua-urban symbiotic governance model, and delivering multifunctional landscape infrastructure. Its trilateral governance strategy progresses through: Water-Centric Foundations: Enhancing ecological resilience to attract green industries and skilled professionals; Urban-Service Catalyst: Activating waterfront public realms and unlocking land value premiums; Industry-Driven Sustainability: Cultivating circular economy practices to eliminate pollution sources.
Leveraging Class-A multidisciplinary qualifications in hydro-ecology, smart infrastructure, and cross-sector master planning, the program synergistically advances ecological restoration, urban revitalization, and industrial upgrading, establishing a replicable paradigm for high-value engineering services.
