Client: Rangtang County Water Resources Bureau, Sichuan Province
Location: Rangtang County, Sichuan Province
Capacity: 16.64 million m³
Work Period: March 2025 – March 2027
Service to Scope: Engineering Design
The Zequ Reservoir Project is a medium-sized reservoir for irrigation, flood control, and water supply, located on the upper reaches of the Zequ River in the Dadu River Basin of the Yangtze River system. It has a total storage capacity of 20 million cubic meters and an effective capacity of 13.8 million cubic meters. The planned dam type is an earth-rock dam with a maximum height of 36 meters.
Challenges include complex planning and coordination requirements to align with national water network. The project addressed foundation seepage and excavation difficulties using a plastic concrete anti-seepage core wall. Geophysical exploration technology was employed for detailed detection of dam foundation rock mass, and a full-section 3D hydrodynamic model was established for the spillway hydraulic design.
Upon completion, the reservoir will optimize regional water resource allocation and promote industrial upgrading through five core functions: integrated urban-rural water supply networks, ecological agricultural water security, basin-wide economic synergy, water-tourism integration, and alignment with national water network strategy. It will drive socioeconomic development and ecological advancement in Rangtang County and Aba Prefecture.
