The project consists of two parts: the expansion of the Central Lake's north shore and the construction of new waterways. The lake expansion adds 32.08 hectares of storage area with a capacity of 620,900 m³, while the channel engineering includes tributaries such as Branch 13, 14, and 15.
Facing complex terrain, the project addresses multiple challenges including water security, ecology, environment, and landscape. It enhances urban drainage and flood storage while integrating sponge city principles, wetland landscapes, and park scenery. BIM technology was utilized to reduce design time and costs.
The project won second prize in the 9th Jiangsu Survey and Design Industry BIM Application Competition and a bronze award in the 5th "Youlu Cup" National BIM Technology Competition. After completion, it significantly improved water drainage and storage capabilities in Shaoxing Binhai New Area, enhanced the ecological environment, and became a promoted spot on social media and travel blogs, boosting residents’ quality of life with notable social benefits.
