Work Period: October 2021 – December 2025
Service to Scope: Engineering Design
The Gaoyou Irrigation District primarily sources its water from the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal. Since 2005, it has pursued the overarching goal of becoming a "modern, water-efficient, and ecological" irrigation district.
The project faced dual challenges of an extended development cycle and the revitalization of irrigation cultural heritage. The renovation involved constructing new pumping stations to enhance water supply reliability, lining main and branch canals to improve infrastructure integrity and ecological performance, and building an information platform to optimize water allocation and management services.
All design tasks have been completed, including 96.15 km of newly lined channels, 6 pumping stations, 28 sluice gates, 8 aqueducts, 7 inverted siphons, 24 bridges, and one information system. These efforts improved irrigation efficiency across 520,200 mu of farmland, increased the effective water utilization coefficient to 0.610, achieved annual water savings of 1.9 million m³, and boosted grain output by 15.52 million kg.
