Client: Port and waterway Development Center of Zhengjiang
Location: Zhenjiang City, Jiangsu Province
Scale: Inland river Grade II standard, 370×34×6 (meters) (Gate chamber length × gate width × threshold water depth)
Work Period: Jan 2023 – Mar 2023(Survey and design)
Service to Scope: Survey and Design of Shiplock
The Jianbi First Line Ship Lock is being upgraded in-situ, 80m from the Second Line Ship Lock's centerline. Designed to Grade II standards with dimensions of 370×34×6m, it will become the world's largest single-step inland ship lock upon completion.
Key challenges include constructing this record-setting lock adjacent to an operational lock, with excavation reaching 20m depth requiring minimal impact on neighboring facilities. The solution employs double-row bored piles with lateral bracing for excavation support, effectively controlling structural displacement to ensure stability and safety.
This project is developed into a modernized demonstration ship lock that is safe, smart, green, aesthetically pleasing, and efficient, meeting world-class standards for inland waterway construction. The design team utilizes digital technologies to provide accurate, comprehensive data support throughout the project's lifecycle.
