Client: Nantong Haoyang Port Co., LTD
Location: Nantong City, Jiangsu Province
Scale: Eight 50000 ton seaport berths
Work Period: March 2020 – August 2020 (Completed in September 2022)
Service to Scope: Survey and Design of seaport
This project, located in the Dongzao Port Operation Area of Lusi Port Zone, Nantong Port, involves the construction of eight 50,000-dwt general-purpose berths with a total quay length of 2,034 meters. The designed annual throughput capacity is 20.27 million tons, handling bulk cargo (coal, ore, auxiliary materials) and general cargo (steel products, scrap metal, prefabricated components). It represents the largest single-phase seaport terminal construction project in China's port industry in recent years.
The project addresses challenges including diverse cargo types, breakthrough applications of permanent magnet direct-drive technology, and smart port development. Given the complex cargo mix and large scale, it employs highly efficient and energy-saving handling equipment. The bulk material conveyor system pioneeringly adopts external rotor permanent magnet direct-drive technology, significantly reducing drive system footprint while offering low noise, minimal maintenance, and eliminating traditional drive system leakage issues—making it the first application of such technology in China's port engineering.
The project comprehensively develops smart port capabilities through full-phase BIM implementation, integrated GIS and big data analytics for intelligent management platforms, breaking data barriers between port logistics and enterprise production systems to achieve end-to-end operational control.
