Client: Suzhou New Town Investment and Development Co., LTD
Location:Suzhou City, Jiangsu Province
Scale: 131000-ton container berths
Work Period: April 2021 - November 2022 (completed in October 2023)
Service to Scope: Survey and Design of Inland Port
Located in the central hinterland of Suzhou, northwest of the city's downtown, this project supports the Jiangsu (Suzhou) International Railway Logistics Center. Suzhou New City Investment Development Co., Ltd. will construct three excavated basins utilizing the developable old port basin, tributary channels, and vacant land in Baiyangwan, featuring 13×1,000-dwt container berths.
The primary challenge lies in resolving the conflict between extremely limited land resources and large-scale construction requirements. Given the urban location and difficult land acquisition, the project optimizes land use through three basins: northern (3×1,000-dwt berths), central (2×1,000-dwt berths), and southern (8×1,000-dwt berths).
The three basins achieve operational synergy through internal roads at the west freight yard and logistics center, interconnected with planned roads. Shared supporting facilities and complementary functions maximize operational efficiency while minimizing land use.
