The Louwang Town, Yandu District, Yancheng City, Jiangsu Province, is planning a smart ecological high-standard farmland demonstration zone covering approximately 1,000 mu. The project aims to achieve intelligent paddy irrigation and multi-stage purification and reuse of tailwater, providing a new smart agricultural model for smart agriculture and ecological farmland construction.
The project addresses technical integration and implementation challenges across four innovative areas: smart agriculture, unmanned irrigation, digital twin, and ecological farmland. In collaboration with Hohai University, it developed a low-cost, high-performance smart water outlet adapted for farm channel irrigation, replacing traditional automated gates and reducing overall costs by over 30%. Using IoT technology, the system enables closed-loop remote control of irrigation and, combined with smart irrigation decision-making algorithms, achieves nearly unmanned management of rice field irrigation.
Through the deep integration of technological innovation and ecological management, the project has digitalized agricultural production methods, established a mechanism for transforming farmland ecological value, and created an ecological cycle of "irrigation–purification–reuse," offering a replicable model for modernizing agriculture in the Yangtze River Basin's key grain-producing regions.
