Client: The Housing and Urban-Rural Development Bureau of Altay City
JV: China Railway First Group
Location: Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region
Area: 50,300m²
Work Period: 36 months
Service to Scope: Snowmelt Water Treatment, Storage Reservoir, Pretreatment Workshop, Advanced Treatment Workshop, Disinfection Tank, and Chemical Dosing Facilities
With urban expansion, Altay City's three water treatment plants no longer meet domestic drinking water demands. This project expands the fourth plant by 50,000 m³/d and optimizes the first phase. Raw water generally meets Class I standards of GB3838-2002 for surface water sources except during flood/sand peak periods. The "pretreatment + conventional + advanced treatment + disinfection" process achieves GB5749-2006 drinking water standards.
The core challenge lies in treating low-temperature, low-turbidity water with complex characteristics and snowmelt water containing diverse potential pollutants to meet drinking water standards, while balancing treatment cost, operational efficiency, and long-term safety.
Upon completion, the project will significantly enhance Altay City's urban water supply capacity and quality, completely resolve unstable supply issues, and meet development water demands for the city and surrounding towns over the next decade. It will provide reliable water resource support for improving the urban water supply system, accelerating urban-rural integration, and promoting high-quality economic and social development in Altay City.
